My truck is less than a year old with only 10K miles, I thought my strut was blown for about 2 months now. It turns out my tie rod ends are bad...ALREADY! Can this be due to the lowering kit?

It's possible.

Any altering of suspension from factory, whether lowering or lifting, can definitely put additional stress on front end components causing early failure.

It's not a problem.

Just make sure when it's fixed that you get a proper alignment done.Adjusting the camber changes will definitely make your parts last longer and could possibly be the reason the original tierods didn't last as long as they may have.

Good luck.

Just another note....Tie rod ends are pretty cheap, so spend the extra money and buy some heave duty ones.

Call around, and see who carries Moog stuff....They make some pretty tough front end components.

In my opinion, they would be worth the extra $$.

This is very true and wide tires induce extra strain on rod ends too. If rod ends are already worn, I would inspect other items in steering too!

Very true on the above statement and it especially holds merit if you use a rim with less backspacing and more width because you are putting even more strain on the outter part of the end.
