Flashing CHMSL

I have a 1999 Chevy Silverado LS Extended cab and I am wanting to make my Center High Mounted Stop Light (CHMSL) flash when I am at a stop. Sometimes when you are on a busy highway and are at a dead stop people coming from behind you do not always notice. Has anyone out there installed a flasher for their CHMSL? If so, what type and where does it go?

I haven't done this, but it does sound like a good idea.

I am curious if the blinking speed will be different between LED and regular bulb lamps.

I am also wondering if I can just add a normal blinker module inline with the hot wire of the CMHSL.

It is $39 + SH and Tax though. I am still inclined to get a $10 flasher from a parts store and see if it will work.

I found this product for $15 total. There were several good reviews on it so I am going to give it a try. This is not much more than simply buying a turn signal flasher which flashes indefinetly.

This particular product supposedly blinks rapidly for 2 to 3 seconds and then goes solid to prevent annoying the people behind you.
