Alright guys, need opinions...

I found this kit on ebay, which pretty much has everything I need for my gear swap, and I was wondering what you guys thought of it.

Do the components sound like high quality parts? I know I want an Eaton LSD, and I've used Timken's stuff before... I just don't know about the ring and pinion.

I've worked on rear-end stuff before, on my 1989 with the same 10-bolt, with a 2.73 to 3.08 swap, which I ditched a week later for a 3.73 complete axle out of a wrecked truck.

How hard is this install gonna be? I mean, will the LSD unit add very much complication to the whole thing?

Not to hard really since you have done it before and have new bearings too. You want to make sure you get preload right on new carrier and bearing with diff change. I would go with the Eaton unit as they are user rebuildable, Auburn have to be sent back to factory for rebuilds. I assume you are doing at least 4.10's or better too with some bigger tires too?

I'm actually planning on keeping the same size tires (well, maybe 255/70R16, very small difference) and getting the 4.10. I'd prefer to have the 3.92 like I was thinking about earlier as I don't haul too much, and spend alot of time at higher highway speeds. I'm going to try and call that company tomorrow to see if they have that 3.92 set available. I drove a 2004 reg. cab again (4wd with 4.10's and a 5.3) this weekend at the dealership, and I was thoroughly impressed. Off the line, it should make a huge difference, especially since I don't have much Torque management like that new truck did. I need to take that thing on a 24 hour test drive, and figure out some mileage... lol
