A/C Recirculate

A/C question on a 2003 2500 HD. A/C recirculate turns off when the key is turned off and vehicle is started again. I have to push the recirculate button each time I restart the vehicle.

It's supposed to do this. Same as the rear defrost or fod lights.

mine does that too. I thought that I was going crazy! Is there no way arround this?

I don't think my 01 has this issue, will check and reply back...

It is supposed to do this, as recirculating cool morning air will usually fog windows very quickly. It also shuts off whenever you switch to either defroster or defroster+floor.

nah you guys arn't crazy. My 94' does this as well. This is normal.

My 04 2500hd does not do this. I can keep it in rec, and it holds the memory until next time I drive it.

'03 2500HD does not turn off. Tried several times today.

Confirmed that my 01 does not do this. It "remembers" that recirc has been selected across start and stops...

Hmm...so..what does this mean? Maybe this is normal for C/K bodied trucks??

It all depends on how yours is when you ask the dealer. Then of course, the way your truck is behaving is normal of course!

Does the recirc setting set to the remote memory settings? I'll check on mine at lunch.

mine remembers....however, i still dont know how to turn on just the outside air. If i dont want A/C or heat....just outside air, the auto climate control seems to be a pain in the a$$ sometimes.

If you press the snowflake thing it will turn your compressor off, the air will still be cool for a few seconds but then will be outside air.
