Got my Trans Temp Gauge kit, have question

I got my Trans Temp Gauge kit from Stylin concepts today. I have not installed it yet, but have a question. The overlay that came with the kit has a speedometer that goes to 120. My original cluster speedometer only goes to 100. Will the 120 overlay work, or will the speedometer be off? It would be cool if it works, but I would think the original cluster speedometer would be calibrated for the 100 MPH overlay. What do you guys think? Has anybody else ordered the kit and got the 120 MPH overlay?

I would say that if you are only changing the overlay, then the speedo will be off if you use the 120 mph one. Unless you are changing the progamming in the cluster, it is calibrated to the one that came in it.

I agree that changing to a 120mph overlay will likely make the speedometer read "off".

Unless that 120mph mark is actually farther along the sweep of the gauge...

In other words, if the 100mph place on the 120mph speedo overlay is in the same place as the 100mph place on your 100mph speedo, then you'll be ok.

Went thru the same situation. Ends up it was the wrong overlay. I purchased mine thru USSpeedo. Contacted them and they sent me the 100mph overlay. 120 will not work.

Thanks for the info. Figured that's what I would have to do. I'll call US Speedo tomorrow. I had to buy my kit thru Stylin concepts, US Speedo would not sell to me direct for some reason.

Okay, talked to US Speedo the other day and they did send the wrong overlay with the kit. Got the new overlay today and it is correct. Those guys are great at US Speedo, had the correct overlay in 2 days, they even said they would ship it overnight if I needed it that quick. Great customer service Now on to installing the gauge, I'll let you know how it goes in a few days.
