What injectors are you running?

Forgive me if this is a repeat but I am new here and have not found any info on this subject. What improvements can be made by using different fuel injectors? Will the injector from a 6.0L work in a 5.3 without any mods? Any insight would be helpfull.

The 6.0 and the 5.3 use the same injector. The computer program changes the pulse width to adjust the injector for the correct flow. The 4.8 uses a smaller injector.

There will be no gain with bigger injectors unless your engine is needing more fuel than your current injectors can supply.

Thanks for the feedback. So if I was to add a custom tune computer, they would take into account the changes I have made, and the injector pulse width would be ajusted? I am thinking about Joining the GP of Westers computer offered here.

Dont change them. The injectors your running now in your 2002 are 24.7lb/hr. In 2000 the 5.3 injectors were changed to 24.7. The 1999 6.0's also had the 24.7 lb'ers. But the 6.0 and 5.3 injectors are the same. They are probably good for say 300HP. Injector duty cycles should not be any more than 80%. If they are its time for new injectors. I had to switch to 2001 injectors in my truck because I went with a 2002 PCM. 1999 5.3 injectors were only like 21lb/hr. So the Injector flow rates were different among PCM's.

Thanks for info. My truck is a 2002 Sierra with 5.3, it has drop in K&N air filter and Poweraid TB spacer. Gibson short headers and Gibson catback. Looking to add roller rockers and computer in the future. Enjoy sticking my foot into it!
