1994-1995 Blazer Transmission swap

I am in need of assistance. Has anyone attempted to swap transmission from a 2 door 1995 blazer to a 4 door 1994 blazer?

I have heard that the 1994 has manual linkage and the 1995 had automatic linkage. Is this true ?

What problems will exist and how can I complete this task?

Please help ..

I was just under my 2000 this weekend, it does have a shift cable for the auto tranny, for selecting from PRND321. The 94 is electronically controlled for the actual shifting while moving, I had one of those also. Dunno if the electricl hookups are the same or not.

Are you talking about S10 or fullsize??

Probably fullsize. The transmission are both mechanical linkage and electronic shift. The 94 will have a rod that goes from the end of the steering column to the tranny. The 95 will have a cable that runs through the floor board. They do the same thing and will interchange.

It is auto in the sense that you can shift on the fly per say .. inside the blazer.. But the linkage is different. It was a run of luck to pick up a transmission with with only 60,000 miles on it .. Sames transmission different linkage. there has to be away to get this completed..

OK, now I see that you said 94 4-door Blazer. That must mean you are talking S-10s.

Post in the compact truck section. They can help you out better there.
