Hi guys. I saw a re-run of "Trucks" on TV the other day and they had some really cool seat covers from Katzkin. ( www.katzkin.com ) If you check out the website they will direct you to www.autoleathers.com to find out more. Anyway, I just bought a 92 Chevy 1/2 ton and could really use a product like this to spruce up the interior. Are these guys the best for the dollar? To do both seats in a regular cab truck like mine I am looking at about $600 if I do the install myself. Anywhere else you guys might recommend?

Thanks! ;)

I would think that you could get new (or take off) seats for $600???

If you know where please let me know!

Where would you suggest looking? The dealer?

The wet okole's are about 1/2 the price, but they seem designed to keep out water, like a wet suit for your seats. The site says they are good for wet swin trunks and stuff. I'm not a swimmer so that really doesn't apply to me, lol.

There are a couple of places around town here that sell take outs from custom shops, and wrecks.

The salvage ones are the cheapest, I've seen many sets going for under $400 for leather buckets. Still looked great.

LWM always has some nice ones in their shop. These guys spank most peoples prices on just about everything truck related around here.

G and R is a little more, but they always have a huge selection.

Del City Pick-up Parts has the most seats, and good prices.

I realize that shipping would negate any savings you might get by buying from them, but my point is that if a relatively small city like OKC has that many places (I didn't list them all) that have them....You just have to do a little digging. Most places like the ones I listed above usually have a couple of ads in the auto/truck trader every week.

Hmm, I'll have to do some looking locally then I guess. I've lived all over the US, and have NEVER been in such an automotive wasteland as Utah. The nearest speed shop is in Las Vegas, the only track in the state is offcially the slowest track in the world, density elevation here is usually over 10k so you are looking at a 40+ RWHP loss from sea level, everything is closed on Sunday, weak beer, and weird laws about when you can drink it and when you can buy it.

Thanks for the input guys!

guess you never spill andything on your seats then, huh? never get into your car dirty, or sweaty?

Oh ya, all your "cupholders". I got one of those car's made by performance-minded engineers before the "days of the laze", and cup holders were the last thing on their mind. But honestly, it's a bit of a pain. there isn't anywhere to reasonably mount an aftermarket one, unless your willing to pay $35 or more for one that was custom made.

One day I left my windows down during a rain, and didn't realize it(they were cracked about an inch). I just got in the car and wiped off the water, no smell or problem.

I neer thought I'd need the waterproof feature either. it comes in handy though
