Stock S-10 Converion to Xtreme

My son has left me his S-10 for the next 6-12 months while he and his Marine buddies are deployed in Iraq. It is a stock 2wd, posi, regular cab '02 with the 4.3. He slid off the freeway and lost the lower front valence, bent the bumper a bit, and scraped the argent plastic in front. Since he wants to lower it eventually, I'm wondering what it would take to give the truck an Xtreme suspension and front end. Any suggestions or references?

I know you can get all the parts from gm. They even sell the whole suspension as a kit. I've seen it in there performance parts catalog. The body parts can also be bought through gm. I think that information can be found at gmgoodwrench.com.

 

With that being said, it would probably cost half as much to go with an aftermarket lowering kit and body kit. I'm sure others here will help with some company's names.

Here is a list of the GM parts for the Xtreme. If your son's truck has the ZQ8 suspension you've already got the suspension for the Xtreme. I think a leaf was removed in the rear spring setup on each side for the X to lower it. I'll have to check mine to make sure. But here is the complete parts list to make up the Xtreme
