I've been lurking around this board for awhile, just a chebby so off to the track with it.

[email protected] 2.214 60' Was my best, I was very impressed, for a stock truck, almost makes me want to order the Westers Chip........

But this is just a work vehicle :banghead:

1997 Chevy RC,LB,350, auto, silverado=loaded, 1/4 tank of 89 octane, fresh tune up, 3:42, G80 with 235/75-15 tires, 100k on the truck,

Maybe somemore mods, just for the sake of fuel economy.

P.S. I got almost 21mpg before the tuneup

Looks like were both newbies here...

Listen those are impressive times! I've seen some earlier third gen (82-85ish) Camaro's & Firebird's running right around there stock. Remember those 3rd gens are pretty light also (3200-3400#).

I think if you want to break into the 14's where talking about some head work, or a better cam. ORRR shave off 500 pounds.

I ran my 04 4.8 got numbers close to yours. Your 60 ft time was better than mine ( 4.8L has no torque). But those are some good numbers, we must all remember, we truck owners roll around in HEAVY CHEVYs. Good numbers. :banghead:

Thanks for the replies, I could not believe it went 15.5. I went to the track hoping for a 15.9. The Vortec 350 torque is impressive. I got a K&N FIPK from ebay for the truck. I will hopefully install it this weekend. When the weather cools off more in Michigan I'll take it back to the track. Maybe some 15.30 with a little better launch.

I buy and sell lots of vehicles, usually 2 per year.... Every vehicle gets a tuneup then off to the track. Just to make sure the engine performance is there.

P.S. Even if I had bought a Yugo, I would have taken it to the track.
