Listing Avalanche

A friend noticed my 2002 Z71 Avalanche sitting lower on the drivers side. I said it was the parking lot, so we measured it. At the wheelwell it is 3/4" lower at the back tire on the driver's side. 1/2" lower on the drivers side at the front wheelwell. I never noticed it until he pointed it out, but now it bugs the hell out of me. Is this normal, or is this truck supposed to be closer to plumb than this? 300 miles and not been off-road yet. Did you measure with a full tank of gas? Since the Av has a 31 gallon tank on the 1500 and a 37 gallon tank on the 2500, and if full, it will add a couple hundred pounds of weight which might be the reason your Av is slightly lower on the driver's side. The gas tank is located on the driver's side. You might want to measure with a close to empty tank and see if your Av is still lower. Good luck!

Gas tank was 3/4 full. I never thought of that. No weight in bed, I did look at that.

At over 8 lbs per gallon, your tank added about 216 lbs to the drivers side. Put close to the same on the passenger side, you should level out.

It seems like alot of the Pickups lean to the drivers side too. Some people have corrected it by put a turn or two on the front torsion bar on that side.

To get your best measurement you need to measure off the frame rail though. It wouldn't surprise me to see a body panel off 1/4-1/2 inch from side to side...
