i hate the avalanche front ends

i HATE the avalache front end on the chevy trucks. i think it looks weak and i can't stand it. the 2001 chevy 2500 HD looked so mean, it was incredible. i will never buy a new chevy until that front end is gone, i will keep my 2001 Z-71 forever if i have to. i am not trying to be mean, the front end just bugs me to no end. long live chevy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mine is "slowly" growing on me but it looks like the trend. elsewere on this forum is a pic of a 2006 gmc. same kinda design so you have at least 2-3 more years to wait.

I love it too. I think it is far more aggressive looking than any other. I know a lot of people complained about no hood bulge, and it looks like they are going to get it for 05, but I think it is a mistake. JMO.

I love the look of the avalanche even when its modified to fit in the off road world, but no matter theres some people that like the looks and there are some that do and as for me i diffently like it, it has that aggressive look towards it!

Yeah everybody has thier personal preferences when it comes to body lines. I really don't like many of the new body designs of any newer vehicles. I guess I will eventually but for now I'll stick with the "old school" look. Just go with what makes you feel good

I just bought a new 04 2500 HD Ext Cab GMC and am having a set of fender flares painted red, I'm also adding the red door handles and tailgate handle.

Did you paint your door handles or order them painted, My parts guy is looking for the painted ones for me.

Thanks Steve. Ironically, I belive the handles are from and Avalance. You can get them and the painted fender flares from any GM parts dealer (although I though I read someone saying they weren't available anymore), but I used Fitchner Chevrolet since they are a corvetteforum vendor and offer the best price on parts and shipping. I'm not a fan at all of the Chev. The GMC styling is way more to my preference, but I'd love to see a solid axle version, 4x4. The IFS just doesn't hold up to the terrain out here.

You know what i think they do but only with 3500 and medium dutys cause about 100 miles from where i live theres a dealership "a Chevy and GMC dealership", they have about 5 or 6 trucks and all where GMC and they were equipped with Solid front axles and they had the front appearance of the light duty GMC trucks and the rest were the medium duty, i happen to look under one and the SFA were huge they mightve been Dana 60's and all 5 were equipped with leaf springs, i dont know if these were conversion from ifs or they were just as is but they look like they were meant to be on them. So who knows

I Love my 01 front end, it looks so smooth and fits the rest of the truck design. If I had to get a new one, id do like my buddy who had a '99 Silverado, go with the GMC.
