40 50 60 series flomaster ???

heard the 50 series is a quite good comprimise muffler what do you guys think

depends on what you consider compormising . it has the distinct flowmaster sound, and it's not all that much quieter than the 40 series in my opinion.

On an SUV, it could be a tad much. I'd persoanlly go w/ the 70 still if you want Flowmaster. I thought you decided on Magnaflow though???

And also, the 60 is a ricer muffler

Yeh I did deside on the Magnaflo but then some lady at work pulled up in a 04 burn like m ine and it sounded nice, naturally i asked and she gave me the complete saga of how they had the 40 first but the kids in the back were getting ready to vomit from the noise so they pulled it and put in a 50 and say they love it. now im confused cause i know my muffler shop can install either its my choice. If it wernt for the wife and her fear of the unknown i would have been over with this a long time ago. im confused.

Well if you still want the Magnaflow, I'd say go w/ the 5x8x18" Magnaflow. It'd be equivalent to a 50 series outside, yet slightly quieter at cruise speeds. The Flowmaster tone is nice though, although it's nice having something slightly different than the main bandwagon.

What I'd do actually, which you SHOULD have thought of, lol, is take a ride in her Burb, see if it's what you want. The 50 series should be pretty close to a 70 on the inside, but a deeper rumble under acceleration, and IMO a more pleasing tone overall.

The Magnaflow will have more of a "roar" than the Flowmaster, if that makies any sence. It has a more performance tuned sound to it than Flows, some like it some don't, although I have yet to see someone who doesn't like the sound of Magnaflow.

If you're still after performance rather than sound, the Magnaflow would be the better route, being it's straight through

But yeah, take a ride in her Burb, see if it's what you want, and go w/ the 50 or an 18" Magnaflow if it's what you want. And tell us when you get it!!!
