How to Get Into Fog Light Housing

Hey -- I just changed a burned out fog lamp last night and I realized that the metal thing inside the fog lamp housing that covers the bulb and directs the light downward (I think?) has fallen off and is now loose in the housing. Is it possible to open up the housing somehow? Or, do I have to just replace the whole thing? I really don't want to do that if all I have to do is snap this piece back into place.

 

Can anyone help me out?

I had the exact same thing happen to me and I had to replace the entire thing.

 

My problem came from the aftermarket bulbs I put in it - they got too hot, melted part of the housing, and the metal bracket broke off. I noticed in your signature you have aftermarket bulbs - they might be the cause of your problem.

 

When you decide to buy new housings, check ebay.
