ok I got a set of 265/75/16 from a friend who took them off his silverado, now i would like to know what everyones opion is on putting theses on my 2500 hd they are not e rated as the old ones are the new ones say 2601 lbs limiot while the e say 3042, i only carry a 325 gallon water tank a couple of times a week ( about #2900 including tank) do you think this is a bad idea and i should just go ahead and by the e rated and not use the others they have less then 50 miles on them.

I have 265's on my 02 HD, the truck came with some 245's that i thought look way to small for it. I bought the 265's late last year and just had them balanced and aligned and other then that i had no problems with them so far as i could think of.

I don't think the new "P265/75/16" tires are enough for your truck.

I would trade those tires in on a set of at least "D" rated tires, because when that water tank is full you will weigh around 9K lbs (truck/tank/water/driver etc...).

I wouldn't chance it either  ,I would use at least D-rated tires.

If the tires you bought from your friend are P265/75R16 the Tire Load Limit for them is actually 2365 lbs. at 35 psi. cold inflation pressure. The 2601 lbs. molded into the sidewall has to be reduced by a service factor of 1.10 for passenger tires used on light trucks. A reputable tire dealer wouldn't sell you these tires for use on a K2500 HD, which I'm guessing came with LT245/75R16E tires that have a Tire Load Limit of 3042 lbs. at 80 psi. cold inflation pressure.
