whine in reverse

Was wondering if anyone has a whine when going in reverse. Sounds much louder going in reverse compared to other vehicles I have driven. Thanks

I haven't noticed anything louder in the Envoy while going in reverse.

My Bravada whines in reverse.

Typically manufacturers will route power through spur cut gears for reverse instead of using helical cut gears. This does make going in reverse noisier but its only for reverse so not a big deal. Forward speeds still use gearsets with helical cut gears otherwise you would be going nutz from the whinning.
