Knock Sensor

I have a 2002 2500HD with the 6.0L. It currently has DTC P0332, low input voltage from knock sensor bank 2.

 

Easy enough. I went to Auto Zone and bought a knock sensor. Opened the hood, got underneath, got above, got a flashlight, up down up down, where the heck are the knock sensors and how do you change them? I don't see anything visible that looks like the sensor I have in my hand.

Typically knock sensors are located some where on the engine block it self, one side or another seeing its Bank 2. It could be in many different places but I'm sorry I dont know the exact location. I dont know if this helps or not but looking through a service manual would point you in the right direction.

Both knock sensors are located just BELOW the Intake Manifold. You MUST remove the Intake Manifold to get to the Knock Sensors.

 

The sensors drop in voltage because WATER from cleaning the engine corrodes the rear (Bank 2) sensor.

The knock sensor is located underneath the manifold. There is two to be exact underneath the manifold. Also I believe there are some inside the block or somewhere. Buy a Chiltons Manual it shows the locations. P.S Why dont you just take it for warrenty? Or is the warrenty out already? Good luck.
