Removing radio in '04 Silverado

I am trying to remove the radio in my 04 Silverado (Bose 6 disk & XM) to do some wiring and when I try to pull the radio out, it seems to be plugged into something that will not let it come out of the dash? My '02 had enought slack in the wires for me to pull the radio out enough to then unplug the harnesses and go about my business. Do I have to unplug the harnesses before pulling the radio out of the dash on the '04? I did some searches but couldn't find anyone else with the same dilemna.

As always, thanks for any insight you can provide.

Pulled mine out last weekend and they don't give you much cable but there was enough to pull it out far enough to reach the antenna which seems to be the shortest. You may have to give it a good tug but be careful, I imagine the cables are expensive

There's a neoprene "nipple" that threads into the back of the stereo and actually plugs into a hole that's in a bracket behind the stereo. They do this for stability purposes.

You should just be able to give it a good tug and it should pop out.
