Truck Tool Boxes vs. Roll Top

I am starting to shop around for a box for my truck or a roll top.

I am looking for one the sits on top of the rails and has latches on the sides so you can unlock it from outside the truck easily. Considering a gull wing or piano hinged design where the whole lid flips up at once. Looking at the chrome or polished aluminum diamond plate models. Basically I was wondering if there are any brands to avoid? Is there any place you know of that seems to be really good on prices, website or physical store? Any info is appreciated.

I had a Snug Lid on my previous truck but it got chips and stuff in it here in CO. I am also toying with getting a roll top. I really like having the whole back sealed up nice, does a roll top leak at all? I was thinking when snow melts it may work its way into the bed. Also what brands would you recommend and where to buy?

Basically I am not sure which way I want to go, been watching different trucks to see what I like the looks of best. Thanks in advance.

I went through exactly the same struggle. Wanted a sealed bed when I didn't have the gooseneck but needed a clear bed when I did. I ended up with a DeeZee across the rails box from Tractor Supply and gave up on the sealed bed. There is one feature I like about the box. It has push-button latches on each side. When it's locked, the buttons push in without engaging the linkage so it doesn't do any good to try to force them. It seems a little more secure than the ones where the button can't be pushed when locked. One other thing I liked was the TSC decals came off rather easily leaving a clean box with no advertising. If you go aluminum I'd recommend springing for the clear coat so it doesn't oxidize. Just my $0.02.
