a couple of things

Hey all,

I've been having a bit of trouble with my 99 silverado...

ext cab, 4x4, sb, locking rear diff, 51000kms

1.After about 10 minutes of driving I get a clunk whenever my truck shifts between 2nd and 3rd gear.  The dealer has replaced the transfer case fluid and retorqued the transmission bolts but that has not cleared up the problem.  The last time I took it in they told my some clunking is normal...perhaps it is, but I though I'd see if anyone else has any ideas.  I was thinking maybe the diff servive (had it done at my first oil change around 6000kms)

2.I also get a clunk that I can feel in the steering column when I make a left turn, but it is only the first left turn.  Every other time I turn left, no clunk.  It happens when I frist pull out my driveway and again when I leave work (have to make left turns) The dealer retourqued the front control arm bolts but alas, a day later and it is back.

I don't have time this week to take it back but I though you guys might have some suggestions. Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance

I have the same noises as you.  I cant take mine in because mine has 62000miles on it.  I think that there is a tsb on both of them.  The driveline clunck ive read about and they had to do something with the knuckle,  and the steering noise they had to replace the steering shaft. go to this site and look around and youll see what im talking about.TSB's
