Brake pedal sounds like a creakey door!

Its weird...and I have had this problem once before but it seemed to be a "little" better once I bled the brake system with new fluid.

When I step on the brakes as I push harder it sounds like a old creekey door would if you opened it. Then when I let off the pedal it lets out this little squeek the whole way up.

Also if I pump the pedal it kinda sounds like there is water in the system 'for lack of a better description'

Anyone experience some or any of this?

Thanks!

no responses. But I have the same problem. Mine only happens though when it's raining or wet on the road. I notice the ABS more when it happens. It does sound sort of like water.

Spray the bushing at the pivot point for the brake pedal with WD-40 and look at the boot on the firewall where the brake lever rod comes thru. The boot may be sliding on the rod and causing the squeek.

My 01 use to do that but come to figure it was the brake pads warping, solved it after changin them.

The water sound that you're hearing may be the normal sound of the power brake booster, not sure. As far as the creak goes, I like jdhudson's suggestion of lubricating the pedal pivot point and any other bushings related to the pedal(used to fix brake pedal creaks on Toyotas like that all the time).

Think wd - 40 or something wirh more consistancey like a lithium greese?

What do you think I'd have better luck with?

Honestly, you can use a little of both. Hit it with wd-40 first to let it get into the tight spots and work it in by moving the pedal in and out, then wipe off the excess and spray on some lithium grease for longevity.
