Well, I just got back from the dealer, (and driving around a bit) and I must say my new Avalanche is a dream to drive!  As posted earlier in "2002 Avalanche"

regarding the stereo upgrades...how does onstar affect this?  Can a aftermarket HU work with onstar?  I too plan to put a sub and some high end comps in the front...might try to put in IllusionND 10" in the front doors if I can fit them w/o too much hassle...

Depending on the depth of the doors I might even go with 12"s....  I'll keep ya posted...

anyone know about onstar?

Sounds like a nice Av Mike.

As far as onstar I push the button every once in awhile.  The people on the other end are always very nice.  I just tell them I wanted to make sure it was working OK.  It really impresses people when they are riding with you when your speakers start to ring and when they answer they refer to you by your real name and tell you where you're at and what direction you're heading...

I don't trust anything that knows where I am, who I am, and how I am driving...  that why I would never own onstar,  they just collect to much information

We have it in our STS.. Its a nice feature.. They are very nice at the other end when you are simply trying it out but unless you do crap loads of driving in unknown places or are too old you dont know what you are doing than it can be a useless option! We've used it once so far in 9 months and that was to check to make sure it worked..
