low beams inoperable

I know this has been discussed on this forum before, but I couldn't find a definitive answer on the solution. 98 Burban, DRL's work fine, when I turn on the headlight switch no low beams, high beams work as they should. Is the stalk switch the culprit. I already replaced the headlight switch, no change. Any help appreciated.

I believe you are describing what I just went through. My DRL's would work and my high beams would work but no low beams. That was until my wife pulled into my driveway and moved the steering wheel tilt. The low beams suddenly went on and as she moved the tilt up and down we could turn the low beams on/off. In the end we had to replace the stalk and harness. Found that 3-4 wires on the large connector had frayed over time from using the tilt and were actually starting to burn the connector. Anyway, that was my issue and may be yours as well.

Thanks,

KJ

I had the same problem on my 02 Sierra. Culprit was an R&D light controller. The design of the controller puts to much amperage draw on the multifunction switch. I took out the light controller and had to replace the multifunctionb switch. $300.00. :D
