I need to rebuild a 4L80E transmission from a 98 GMC Diesel Sierra. Anyone know where I can purchase a service manual for this "late" model 4L80E? I purchased the ATSG 4L80E "revised edition" manual but it doesn't contain information about the 98 4L80E transmissions.

I own the 2000 4L80-E and 4L60-E manuals from GM. Maybe I can scan what you are looking for.

That's a gracious offer... thank-you. There are many, many pages to the manual...even if you could share some details about the manuals, that would be great.

 

Are they the service manuals for the vehicle or only the transmission? Do you have a part # for the manual?

Finally picked up a set of GM service manuals for my truck. They do reference the tranmission, all the parts, and how to change some of them but it is definitely not a rebuild manual. Doesn't included clearances, thicknesses, other critical measurements.

 

Can anyone suggestion where I can locate a rebuild manual for my 4L80E?

Totally forgot about this thread. I will look at my manuals when I get home.

I have an ATSG manual that was printed in 2003.

It shows the differences that came in 99. you may just need a newer version than the one you have.
