New Style Taillights

Hello,

has anyone changed out their 2003 & earlier model tail lights for the newer 2004-05 style? I really like the look of the newer ones and am interested in doing the swap on my 03 HD. Do they bolt right in? How about cost? Thanks for any feedback.

If you have a GMC you may have to do some wiring work to get the '03-current Chevy taillights to work. I'm thinking the wiring is different than what the '99-up Sieera and '99-02 Silverado is.

If you have a 2003 Chevy, the 2005 taillights should be the same as what you have.

Yes, thats exactly what I want to do, can I ask what they cost you? (Nice pics).

Bought the lights (new) off here for $80 then went to AutoZone and picked up two liscense plate light replacement sockets, some 194 bulbs and some quick connects which was less than $10. Spend about 15 min total adding the extra sockets to my existing harness and installing the lights. Sold the stockers on Ebay for $60 so I have $30 and 15 min invested in the 03 Chevy tails! Not bad!

hey, my buddy has a 2004 and gave me his stock taillights for Christmas (score!) but i noticed the sockets from my 99 don't quite match the holes on the 2004 taillights (both silverados). did you get new bulb sockets to wire to the stock wires for this conversion?

i noticed you said license plate replacement sockets... sorry to be so needy, but do you have a link?
