Fuel Gauge Problem with 94' Silverado

okay...so. I changed the fuel pump this weekend. Before we changed the pump the gauge worked fine...now its stuck pegged all the way to the right. What did I do? I doni't think I damanged the yellow floating thing, but I think there could be question to which wires were plugged in where.

If the float isn't stuck in the up position, you might have a wire shorted or open. I'm not sure about GM, but with Toyota, if the sender is open the guage goes to empty, if you ground the wire it goes to full. From what I remember, GM is the exact opposite...but I'm really not sure. I'm sure someone here knows exactly how that circuit operates.
