I could use some info too, just recently had my cd player go out on me, it made a small pop then switched over to the radio and will not eject the disc. Just seems like the disc player is completely dead. I had read on another site where this is happening to a lot of cd players in GM trucks. Whats the scoop?

Not just with GM trucks. I think Delco is having some issues because I've had a similar problem with my wife's '04 Malibu and the head unit w/6 disc in dash changer. Maybe a month after we bought the car she put 3 CDs in it that she listens to a lot. They played fine for maybe another month, then one day instead of playing it gave her a CD changer error message on the display. It refused to eject those discs or load new ones too. We finally had to get the dealership to replace the whole thing, and the place they send the old ones off to had to remove her CDs and mail them back to us. The new one seems to be working fine other than the rare occurance of an error message concerning the XM radio feature (supposedly is only a software glitch, but no dealer fix for THAT one yet). Turning the radio off then back on seems to clear the last error.

BTW, all the problems aren't just CD or XM related. My '04 Silverado Bose CD/cassette/XM unit refused to make a sound one morning on the way to work. Everything seemed normal as far as displays and button functions go, but nothing came out of the speakers regardless of volume level setting. It took turning the truck off then back on to resolve the problem, and it hasn't come back since.
