Key in ignition remider

Can the the volume of the "key in ignition" and "headlights on" remider (beeper / dinger) be turned down. I know that it can be turned up. I had a Yukon XL for a loaner for a few days while my truck was in the shop and that "key in" ringer was a lot quieter. Is the volume something that can or needs to be programmed at the dealer?

There are 2 settings for the chimes, normal and loud.

They can be switched with your radio buttuns.

with the ignition on and the radio off press and hold the "6" button, "loud" or "normal" will appear, repeat till you get the one to want.

this will only work on the 03 and up

I did that, it tells you how in the owner's manuel. I just want it normal to be less loud.

The two settings are ridiculous loud and just annoying. The easiest way to get rid of it is to just learn to pull the key out a notch when you shut it off. Very easy.
