Serpentine Belt

I have a question about my 6.0 serpentine belt. It seems to only squeal when the weather is wet. Does this sound like it's more than likely just the belt or could the idler pulley be bad? Foggy, Snow, Rain does'nt matter. Anyone had an idler pulley go bad after 53,000 miles? Just wondering if I should replace tthe pulley at the same time I replace the belt!!! :)

My 5.3 is doing the same thing right now. I have a new belt in the back seat but I keep running into that age-old problem.

When it's cold/rainy/sleety/snowy, I'm not freezing my cajones off just to get rid of the squeeking...But when it's nice out, it's not making any noise...Why would I work on it? It's not making any noise.

I'm sure hoping that it's just the belt. :)

The dealer replaced my belt at 17K miles for a chirping type of noise. The old belt looked fine, so I figured that it was the idler pulley, but replacing the belt cured the problem.

Dealer replaced mine under warranty and I had the same problem shortly thereafter. I replaced it on my own with a Goodyear Poly-V Gatorback belt and haven't had any problems since.
