2500 HD hood & Grille on 1500HD

Does anyone know if it's a quick swap to get hold of a 2500HD hood & grille and bolt it onto the front of a 1500HD on 2005 models?

wondering if anyone has experience with this on 05's

can it be done with no body or bracket mods or is there quite a bit to the job?

There will be a little bit of paint also. The strips that go between the headlights(on the 05 HD grill, they are painted to match the body color).

forgive my lack of experience but is the initial 04 2500hd hood they refer to in that thread the same as an 05 1500hd hood

is it all just swap out or will there be modifications needed?

There will be a little bit of paint also.  The strips that go between the headlights(on the 05 HD grill, they are painted to match the body color).

dont wanna be a buzzkill here but now im confused . i just wanted to swap out my stock hood for the 05 hd hood . i was told that i needed to buy the grill ( new chrome one ) the plastic part between the grill and hood and the hood itself . i think that the hoods all the same on the 03-05 LD, 04 2500HD and possiblly the 05 2500 . correct me if im wrong but this question would help alot of us trying to get that beefy look sorry for wandering in your post .

You are correct. Those are the parts you need. I was just adding the last detail in my first post. There are two plastic strips(05 HD ONLY!) between the park and headlight bezels that are monotone painted to the body color of the truck. If you want the whole 05 HD look, you will have to have them painted.

Another poster was not clear on the grills and model years. I was trying to clarify this to him.

In fact, just look at the grill at the top of this page. See the black, painted inserts between the lights. These are the parts of the grill I was refering to that need to be painted. This grill is on an 05 HD.
