BCM and ADL

I have a 03 Yukon XL with a 5.3 and I cant shut of the Head lights(Not DRL's) once it gets dark due to the BCM being set up for export to Canada. I'm in the millitary and getting tired of blinding gate gaurds.

Can the BCM be reprogramed? I believe its RPO code Z49 that needs to be deleted. Or could I order a new BCM with U.S. specs?

Any help would be Welcome.

I know that in Canada, DRL's are required and cannot legally be shut off, but I never heard of the headlights being forced on in one of these.

If the vehicle is located and registered in the U.S., a dealer *MAY* be able to reprogram the BCM, but will probably have to call Techline to get a special calibration number to do it.

You are correct, Drl's are always on until the Auto HeadLights come on. U.S. versions you can turn the head lights off. Canadian modles cant.

I called GM customer service and he said it could be done but my local stealer wont do it. They dont like people who buy the canadian versions. :sigh:

I work with Canadians and they tell me that there Police vehicles can turn there headlights out, so it can be done.
