Windsheild Wipers Stuck

I live in Atlanta and we had freezing rain and snow last night. When I got home last night it was raining and when I parked my Sierra my wipers were on and left parked with the wipers laying straight up. My windshield had about a 1/2 inch of ice on it , I did not realize my wipers were on when I started it up, they did not move, once the windshield defrosted I tried them and they won't work, they are still in the up position. Has anyone experienced this before?

did you try tapping on the wiper motor itself?

You've probably stalled the wiper motor and blown a fuse. It should be a simple fix.

Is this a new body style truck?

They are bad about the wipers moving on the shaft when they have resistance such as ice. They may have slipped.
