I love my GMC Truck, but have had some problems that this board has helped me fix. I'd like to start a thread that lists all of your problems and a link to the thread that helped fix it... this might help alleviate some posts.

 

1999 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4 5.3

Ext Cab

New Body Style

 

1.) Fuel Sender Unit failed - fuel gauge stopped working - (~50,000 miles) - Click here for solution

 

Haven't fixed this yet, just using the odometer and refilling every 300 miles

 

2.) Leaking rear window - (~50,000) - Click here for solution

 

Used a silicon bead on seal, working fine so far

 

3.) Back rear speaker went out in the 3rd door (~60,000) - Click here for solution

 

Replaced myself

 

4.) ABS Light - EBCM Unit switch is dead - (~80,000) - Click here for solution

Pretty good...maybe the sticky could be called something like: "Common issues and Solutions".

 

Don't forget to add the old "Service 4wd Light" or "4x4 inop": replace in-dash push-button switch
