I have a 2004 Yukon denali that I bought new. It has 15000 miles on it now. Since the day I had it, it makes a noise while driving that is irritating. I have serviced it 4 times now and they can not fix the problem. The noise sounds like it is coming from the front. It occurs when my speed is above 40mph. It sounds like metal on metal but it is not consistent. That makes me believe it is a wind noise but when I drive under a bridge it is really loud, consistent and sounds like metal on metal. I messed with the mirrors with no avail. It does not stop with braking nor does it get louder with acceleration. Also the dealership just replaced my rear rotors, rear axle seals and speed sensors. This did not fix the problem either. The noise also gets louder with cold weather. I am lost here and wondering if anyone else has ever had a similar problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I also have a ringing metal to metal sound at 30-40 mph only on ecceleration but goes away at higher speeds, it doesn't do it all the time.

What could this be, I will take it in on the 21st this is the only time I have to do it, Saturday's the dealers don't have any tech's that can work on it.

after 3 repair attempts it may be a candidate for LEMON LAW .depends on your state. i know for sure in california it is . im a tech at a dealer out here (not gm) and 3 repair attempts here is a big deal. good luck!

Well I Guess if nobody else has this issue, the noise we are having is not normal and needs to be fixed,

Because if more people had this noise it would be "GM Normal"

I just bought an 05 silverado with the V-6 and there is a chattering noise in front of the motor thats driving me crazy I thought after a few miles when I got the new off it that it might quit but it hasnt. my 92 with 5.7 and 180,000 is quieter! of course the dealer said to bring it by but I am in the middle of nowhere in Alaska and have to drive four hours one way thru snow and ice to Anchorage and with my work schedule that makes it tough. I am at the point where I dont care if it blows up because I bought extended warranty with towing so they can just come and get it. it sounds like its coming from power steering pump?

i have an idea but i dout its the problem. i have an 03 rcsb 4.3L, i have had a vibration develope and it got worse this winter, its only at 1400-1500 rpms, around 30-40 miles an hour. soudns like metal on metal. it actualy turned out to be an exhaust leak/exhasut vibration, dealship wasent clear, but they didnt do nething cuz i have an aftermarket gibson catback doul system. So when it goes to the dealship, ahve them check to see if its related to your exhaust system.
