That's a good price.

When I traded in my 00 ZR2 last year they gave me $15,000 for it, I only paid $9,000 for it since I worked @ the dealer and got it at cost.

Excellent price!

Hey HeavyB, where in central PA do you live? My son turns 16 in March and he wants an S-10 (and I don't really want him driving my truck) can you send us some pics. oh, BTW we live between Bellefonte and State college.

Hey BBSilverado,

I live 40 miles north of Williamsport and 10 miles south of Wellsboro in a little place called Morris. I can be in State College in under a hour and a half. I do have pictures I can email to you if you have email. I do not know how to post pictures on here unless someone can explain. I grew up in a garage that my dad owned so the truck had been well taken care of. All work on the truck has been done by me so I know it is done right. I hate to sell it because it has been a good truck but it just isn't big enough for a baby. I don't think I would let my 16 yr old son drive my truck either if I had one like yours. You have a very nice looking truck. Let me know if you are interested in the pics. Thanks for your response. Eric

my email is [email protected] if you want to drop me a line with your email.

MightyHD - Thanks for the encouraging words. I tried to be fair in pricing. I need to sell it before the end of march so I can replace it before my baby comes.

Thanks MightyHD. I thought the price was pretty reasonable but I have advertised it for over two months now and have only gotten one offer and I think that is from a scam. One of those we will send you 20,000, send 5,000 here etc. etc. etc. I am starting to get pretty frustrated. My baby is due any day and I have to get this truck sold so I can start looking at bigger ones that my wife and a car seat will fit in. I really like your truck MightyHD. I looked at your alblums, very nice set up. How does it ride with the green keys?

Hopefully I can get this truck sold soon. Thanks for the encouraging words. HeavyB

    • 2013 5.3 still to this day calls for the PF48 filter.  Which as a 15psi bypass pressure.     There is a TSB, 17-NA-157 that talks about the PF-63 and PF-64 filters which have a higher bypass rating of 22psi.    TSB HERE - temp.xml   "Beginning in 2012, the oil pumps began to regulate main gallery feedback instead of pump out pressure. This means that the oil pump now does not begin to regulate until pressure is built up to the main gallery. This change reduces the amount of time it takes to provide oil to the engine bearing and lifters during extreme cold start conditions.  Main gallery feedback oil pump control systems are present on the following engine families which use Spin-on oil filters: Small Gas Engine (SGE), Large Gas Engine (LGE), High Feature (HFV6) Gen2 and Small Block Gen5 gasoline engines. These engines with the main gallery feedback oil pump control systems are factory built with an ACDelco® oil filters"   It also calls out what engines use those filters.  The gen 4 small blocks were not on that list (LMG, LC9, L9H, L92, L94, L20, L96).  Gen 5 small blocks use the higher pressure filter.
    • Do you know WHY the filter relief setting was increased to 22 psig?    When the new system goes into the second stage the pump volume ramps up considerably. It was found that the 15 psi filter bypass setting put the filter in bypass on a warm engine when the second stage was activated. Raising the filter bypass setting forced the filter to do what it designed to do. Filter. Preventing debris from circulating during high load, high rpm operation.    So next question is how did GM find this out? VLOM/lifter failures and a deep dive by Melling Corp.    Last question. Is it required? Look at it like this; a motor may be equipped with a rev limiter. But it only works if the set point in reached. That 22 psig setting only matters if the pressure differential across the filter media exceeds 15 psig during normal warm operation. Second stage kicks in around 3000-3500 rpm.    I can't answer your question because I don't know you and how you use the truck. But I think there is enough information here to let you decide for yourself. 😉
    • Probably not their first rodeo, so it should go as planned most likely.  Typically the service manager or tech doing the swap will put some seat time to shake it down after they get it all put back together.  We usually put 50-100mi before we hand them back so if something happens, its not after you get it.  A coolant leaks, oil leaks, a ground left off or loose, vibration, etc.     The new engines so far have been good?  There's been a couple that have popped out there again (the replacement engine) but most have been okay.
    • To me it honestly makes zero difference what filter you run. It's not a race engine, just a truck engine that's mostly bumming highways and it just needs a filter that filters oil.   The filter used to be a 7060 and the long version was a 7045. Now it's the newer updated filter that the K2XX trucks and newer run, the 100255 I believe if we are using napa numbers. Any of those filters is going to do the job.   I wouldn't overthink it, to me it makes no difference because those first filter numbers worked for 18+ years before the spec suddenly changed.
