Windshield 'whistle'

I could swear there was a topic like this at some point, but I'll be darned if I can find it, so please forgive me if this is redundant.

I'm getting this annoying, intermittent whine/whistle from somewhere on the passenger side, I believe it to be the windshield.  Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, what was your fix.

It's not an issue when I'm flying solo, because I've either got the music cranked or the window down or both and can't really hear any vehicular noises, but when the wife and/or child are with me, noises stand out.

I've heard of some people having issues with the outside mirrors making whistling noises at highway speeds.  If you hear a flapping or tapping noise on the windshield, that would be caused by a bug deflector in most cases...

Tom has a cure for the bug deflector (AKA Mountaineer Tom), but as far as the whistle goes, I don't know...

I had the ventviser window things onmy 2000 excab, and never heard any whistling...  maybe they changed the airflow enough to keep it from whistling.

Mine does it occasionally, usually because the window isn't up all the way.  Also, sometimes the extended cab door isn't shut all the way so you don't get a tight seal.  That's usually what causes it.  It's annoying though becuase you've got to pull over, open both doors and give them a good slam.

Beav,

If your truck is an excab, the noise you hear could be coming from the back windows.  I had to have mine replaced along with about 1/3 of all excab drivers...
