Newbie TSB/Repair questions PLS help

Good morning. I am a newbie here to what seems like a great site. I hope you don't mind me just jumping in with my questions.

I have a 97 Tahoe with 62000 miles on it. Now that we are a month away from a very long roadtrip all the seems to be common problems for this truck have kicked in at once.

The wipers are seemingly taken on a life of there own which from doing some reading is the Pulse wiper relay. I know there was a "Campaign" on this but it is now closed and the repairs are no longer being honored by GM.

The classic ABS kicking in at about 5 mph. I believe this is the ABS speed sensor TBS 020525006A.

And lastly, the steering for a second or two overcompensating at higher speeds. I think this is the EVO sensor.

Now, my question is that as a more novice do it yourselfer, can I tackle these repairs in my driveway or should I bring it to the shop and blow our vacation money on the repairs??

Does anyone have the detailed TSB with the repair suggestions? Maybe a diagram?

Hey maybe you wanna come on over and help me fix it......hehe.

Anyway, I REALLY appreciate any input you can offer!!

Ok, Ive got the wiper problem figured out and it seems pretty simple - Thanks to a super posting on here from Ben.

I could still really use some input on the steering and ABS problems.

Thanks !

My 94 truck had the wiper problem, bought the circuit board $30. and replaced it easy.

My 98 had the ABS deal at 5mph,I was told it was wear in the front bearing,do a search here you might be right on the sensor.(either Or)It should be a easy job to fix.You can travel without this fix. Also the steering EVO sensor was going on the 98.It would help turn the truck in a corner(you had to be on your toes driving it)I think it was $65.and you should be able to replace it with no problem,You will need some kind of a manual, maybe someone can e-mail you the pages from the manual. -

The ABS sensor TSB is for the sensor at the wheel.

It's getting rust/mud/dirt/etc between itself and the ground. Must take the sensor off, clean it and the spot it touches the steering/braking knuckle. Reassemble.

I've not done this, but reported many times over at the Suburban/Tahoe forum. My buddy has captured all/most of those fixes at his personal site at: #1 Son's place (Andy Lim)

The EVO sensor is mounted at the bottom of the steering colume. Screw driver and $28 bucks for a new. Many have "fixed" theire with shot of WD40, as it's just a poteniometer and the resistance material/wiper has oxided.

Another potential in association with the EVO sensor is the sensor on the back of the power steering pump. Think only hydroboosted (3/4 ton), but not sure. It's been known to go bad. Toughest part is getting at that thing.
