Rear springs

Does anyone know if there is someone who make softer springs for a "04 single cab 4x4? I only tow a light bass boat and the ride is very harsh unloaded which I am @ 85% of the time. Also GM started putting lift blocks on the rear instead of re-arched springs to give the truck the lift. I would rather do away with the lift blocks

and get softer re-arched springs............................

One of the aftermarket suppliers might offer a softer leaf spring kit, although '04 + models might still be a little early for such a kit to appear. Check out Rough Country and some of the other suspension lift manufacturers.

An alternative to change the way your truck rides is by changing out the shocks. Sux's to have to do that with such low miles on your rig, but that may soften the ride.

Most performance shocks make the ride feel stiffer, or at least more "positive." So, perhaps going with one of the adjustable shocks, such as the Rancho RS9000X 9 position shock might do it for you. Most people who use those shocks on 1/2 tons find the lowest two settings too soft, but with your factory blocks they might set you up just right for everyday driving.

Those shocks are easy to adjust for softer or firmer, so you can set them higher when you tow. Also, they can be adjusted different for the front as compared to the rear, and even side to side. There's an optional in-cab controller that allows you to re-adjust on the fly, but it only works for changing the settings front to rear, not side to side.

Sorry if this sounds like an ad for Rancho shocks. It isn't, and I don't work for Rancho nor any suppliers or re-sellers. It's just that I don't know of any other variable setting shocks.
