Cold hard start 96 GMC Sierra 1500

When I go to start my 96 GMC Sierra in the morning, I have to pump the gas petal and crank it over and over (with short burst of cranking). When it's warm, it starts right up. Once it's started, it runs smooth.

 

What could be causing this?

wonder if you have good spark... or good plugs for that matter. warm plugs fire better than cold ones. Maybe its flooding right off the bat with poor spark.

Well, it's been raining...I'm wondering if it might be the fuel pump?

Had the exact same symptoms with my 96.... Bad Plug Wires.
