mazingo Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 Guys I think I am going to take the tune out of my truck. Gas is too high and I use it pretty regular to go to work. I need it too last and with the tuner I find myself winding it up a lot. I was thinking about selling it on ebay for about $300.00 Do you think it would sell??? I may use the money for a down payment on a atv. What would you guys do??

Why dont you go in and modify the tune for better mileage? Less RPM's helps.
highup1500hd Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 like redvett said-- it won't work for anyone else. It is locked into your vin and if you sell it, all the person who buys will get is a code reader. I doubt it would be worth it to you.
Halen5150 Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 You can always pay to have it unlocked and then sell it...

Any way just an Idea. After I posted it I was thinking, its not the tuner making me get in it, its the beautiful roar comming from the flowmaster 40 deltaflow . I may just change that. Go ahead and dual it out with two quieter series. Thanks for the input guys
facn8me Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 On the new predators 03 and up. If you return the vehicle to stock you can use it on another vehicle of the same year. That was the deciding factor on buying my predator. That and the adjustability of it. I am very pleased with mine.
highup1500hd Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 I have an 03 and I am not able to do that. I returned my to stock, but it still has my vin in it. It is sitting on a shelf in my garage with a Westers in my truck. I kept it so that I could use it if I ever get an engine code. We tried it on my friends truck and it did not work. I must have an earlier 03 version of it or something I also checked around to see if I could get it reset. Most places wouldn't even do it, but Granatelli's (sp?) would. They only wanted 250 plus shipping. For that price who would want to reset it? You could dang near buy a new one for that.
facn8me Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Do you have the latest update on it? You can send it in if you don't and they will update for free. Just shipping cost.
mazingo Posted April 13, 2005 Author Posted April 13, 2005 Hey have any of you guys tried this with a predator tuner? Put it on the 93 octane setting but run 87 gas?? Sounds stupid.... yes. Get better gas mileage oh YEAH! its amazing I have been running on the 93 setting for about 6 weeks ( I swap back and forth from one to the other every few months just for the hell of it) and put the same gallons of gas in it every day I drive to work. But after I started using the 87 fuel on the high setting I started having more fuel left at the end of each day. Same driving habits NOT GOOD ONES EITHER. But I swear it does work on my truck and no trouble codes yet... but I dare not pull anything heavier than my my 6'5" 320 lbs ass . thought it was worth telling.
Ric Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 Maz you are wanting to get rid of it because of fuel costs, but it's actually getting good mileage for you ? Better keep it and do you really fill up every day? Hey have any of you guys tried this with a predator tuner? Put it on the 93 octane setting but run 87 gas?? Sounds stupid.... yes.
