Volant vs K&N series 77

I was planning on installing a k&n series 77 FIPK on my 6.0L, but I am noticing that some are perferring the volant. Just wondering which is better?

I wouldn't fool with the volant. People saying that they don't do any better than a stock airbox, and I remember reading about someone loosing about 2 mpg when he switched from fipk to volant.
