steering shaft lube

hey guys....i think it's time AGAIN to get my steering shaft lubed. i had it done 2 times under warrenty but that was almost 3 years ago. the clunking and grinding has been getting progressively worse the past year and i have just been reluctant to take it in. what do you think my chances are to get GM to pay for the fix with 75k and no extended warrenty? what's the normal service charge for that repair?

Kit was 10 bucks plus they charged me about an hour labor here where I live in GA. So around 65.00 I believe... Yeah and probably NO chance they will relube it for nothing with 75000 miles on it...

If you must pay, insist on the new replacement intermediate shaft. At least then you won't have to do it again in 20 or 25 k.

I had the shaft replaced a few months ago after waiting awhile because of them being backordered, but its making noise again. Took it back in they just regreased it.. go figure
