1999 Yukon - Engine Overspeed Limiter??

I have a 99 Yukon 4x4 with the 350 engine. Big debate around my house right now. GM advertises that their engines now have Engine Overspeed Protection. The question is, does the engine in my 99 Yukon have this protection. If so, where can I find this shown in some sort of specification or something?? By the way how does rev limiting work??

Engine overspeed is controlled bythe PCM and shuts off fuel at a certain RPM for your engine. There is also vehicle speed protection and that is also calibrated in to prevent you from driving faster than the tires are rated for.
