dies at stops

I have a 93 Suburban that runs well in every way until two days ago it started dying at stop signs. There is no engine light on and the AC does not effect this problem. It runs good until you come to complete stop and then it dies? I would greatly appreciate any help, thanks again.

no one has been under the hood but I'll see if I can find a broken or unplugged line. It does idle good right after you first start it, and it starts and idles good right after it dies also.

We had some problems with pickup coils back then. In some cases, oil would wick up the distributor shaft and cause problems. In other cases, the magnetic material in the pickup coil would deteriorate. What would happen is, at low idle speeds, not a good enough signal would be generated to trigger the module and the truck would just shut off. Sometimes it'd idle fine, other times it would just die, for seemingly no reason.

After a more thorough test drive the truck began to die in the staight aways and once I got about a mile from any gas station I realized that the odometer was way past its normal mileage. So after obtaining a gas can and a gallon of gas I think the problem has been solved(fuel gauge inop). I appreciate all of your help everybody. Although this is a cheaper temporary fix I'm not looking forward to replacing that sending unit. Thanks again :D
