2003 Z71 does it have a cabin air filter??

I thought they stopped putting them in the trucks in 2000.

 

As per my manual under Normal Maintenance Replacement Parts

 

Passenger compartment Air Filter Kit 52485513

Factory manual shows part # and labor time, but both "Service and Repair" and "Locations" say no cabin air filter is used.

 

'04 manual does not show any information, part # shown for '03 is a carryover from '02 model.

 

With 205,000+ pages of printed information, every once in a while they will not delete a page they should have when carrying info from one year to the next.

Nope,No cabin-air filter on the '03-up trucks.They used them from '99 to '02 only,And took them out for '03.

i thought that they had to come out due to conflicts with the dual zone control that became standard in 2003 - nothing to do with cost cutting?

The air all comes from one source, inside (recirculate) or outside, at one time. Even 2 smaller filters, one for each side would work too.

I agree. Have you ever noticed how much cleaner the interior (dash) is in the trucks that have them?
