Overhead Console

I was thinking about scooping an overhead console from a junkyard Silverado.  My question is for those of you with them.  How are they affixed.  I'm not sure how they would mount into a truck w/o one.  I don't want to get one and then find out that I can mount it in my truck.

Can someone help me.

the short ones are held in with one screw and two snaps,  the long ones I think you have to look at the console  mark where the mounting spots are and then cut back the headliner in those locations

nope,   you can get either for the ext cab,   I have a short one in mine because I don't like the looks of the long ones.

it just screws on,  the wiring you will probably have to run for the lights but there might be a wiring harness already under the headliner

I have the lo0ng one in my Tahoe. I've taken it out so many times, i could do it with my eyes closed. it is a single screw in the back, and 2 tabs slide into the holes in the roof. you probably will just have to cut the holes for the tabs in the headliner, and it should bolt right up. the screw hole should probably already be there along with the wire harness. But you wont know for sure until you pull the headliner.

good luck
