annoying flopping noise??

i have a horribly annoying noise caused by 2 little rubber flaps on the outside ends of the hood -- look like they're designed to cover the hinges.  well, they're attached at one end, but not the other and they flap like a son of a gun.

i tried using some contact cement to hold down the other end.  it didn't hold and a day later it's back to flapping loudly.  I'm tired of just turning up the radio.  any suggestions?  some other adhesive?  i would just rip them off it didn't look so ugly underneath.

thanks in advance!

Don't have an answer, but I can sympathize as I have the same problem on my wife's Tahoe.

I second your motion for an answer.

Do you guys have bugshield on your trucks?  If so, that could be the reason they are doing that.  The bugshield is disturbing the normal flow of air over that area.  Unfortunately, I don't know what you could do to fix that particular piece.

But something you may want to look at if you havn't done it already is the windshield molding that runs up the sides.  When I added my bug shield (Auto Ventshade Bugflector II), it caused them to flap around and make what I called a "tapping" sound.  I put some 1/2 inch wide 3M double sided trim/molding tape on the underside of that molding so it would stick to the windshield.  I havn't had  that noise since then.  It only cost 3 or 4 dollars for the tape, so it was very inexpensive.  You may want to give that a try.

I have the GM hood protector on my Sierra the the only time the flaps move is when I open the hood.

No flopping here.
