NewbieZ71
I have read that gas mileage is low during break in and then gets better with a few miles on the engine....I have 7500+ on my 5.3 and am getting 15-16.9 mpg (cant quite get to 17!)... has it increased as much as it ever will? At what mileage does it max out?
Shaners
I would hope that it would be a little better than that, but alot depends on whether you are running the AC, or a driving in town. I drive in town alot and the worst I've gotton was a little over 13 and the best was around 16 mpg. I'm guessing if I were to run a tank out on the highway at 65 mph with out the air on I'd get around 18 mpg's or so...

HiG4s
I started out 18 to 19 overall, and now at 10,000 miles I'm getting 19 to 21mpg.
NewbieZ71
My 5.3 has 8600 miles as of today. Last mpg check was 16.5 mpg. Little bit of around town and a lot of high speed highway (75-85 mph). I get into it a little more than I should around town. I bet if I kept it around 60 I would get 1 or 2 more per gallon on the highway.
