4.3 litre GMC C1500

I was talking to my bro in law and he has a gmc as well. he tells me his mechanic told him that in the morning you should start to drive it in 3rd gear and about 10 mintutes into the drive switch to "D" says its better for the cold tranny in the morning? Mine is a 2wd automatic

Is this true???

Well, it probably wouldn't hurt it...But it isn't necessary. The Tranny automatically raises shift points along with a couple of things the PCM does in order to keep you from abusing the drivetrain until it reaches operating temperature.
