are silverado fogs and sierra fogs the same?

im looking to buying a OEM foglight package on ebay. i was just wondering if the silverado fog lights are the same as the sierra foglights on the 99-02 models

They mount at different places in the bumper. I think they are different.

okay, I found a OEM fog light kit on ebay complete with the oem switch and everything. I was reading the description and it said that i would need to have my computer (bcm) programmed for the lights to work! what is that all about? it said that it can cost anywhere from free to $90. and that the programming can be done at a dealer or at a shop that has a tech 2 programmer (whatever that is)

 

i was pretty disappointed to hear this. has anyone else done this before?

The fogs are BCM controlled. So the BCM must be flashed to control them.

cool, where did ya have it done? did you have to go to a dealer? i know all the dealers in my area are crooks and its at least $200 to get your car in for anything
